Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath today stated that the families of health workers cannot be isolated or given priority in the vaccination drive. He stated that the Government’s policy on the vaccination drive is to vaccinate as many people as possible once the priority list of health workers and frontline workers is completed. “There has been no separate vaccination of health workers’ family members with the knowledge of the health authorities and the Ministry of Health,” Dr. Herath told The Morning. However, he said that family members of health workers can obtain the vaccine through the public vaccination drive.
