Oil and Gas New Zealand’s chief executive Andrew Jefferies was in Dunedin yesterday to speak at the Otago Southland Employers Association’s annual Health and Safety Forum. The oil and gas industry used four tools for health and safety: design, communication, construction and management. Mr Jefferies believed the health and safety culture of any company was set by the board and management. It was also important for company directors to fully comprehend the business to understand the health and safety of the company as well, Mr Jefferies said.
