The victims are believed to have been walking their dog - who was also killed - when they were hit by a car at around 2.30pm yesterday. The crash happened on Abbey Road in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, when they were hit by a vehicle at about 2.30pm on Sunday. Ian Singleton, who was nearby when the crash happened, posted on Facebook that the scene was like a "horror movie". One woman, who lived near the crash scene, told the PA news agency: "There's an intense sadness. One resident said: "It is a terrible, terrible thing."
