A new PETA video has revealed the heartwarming transformation of a rescue dog who was found covered in tar in India. The short clip explains how Champi was found stuck to the pavement and covered with coal tar and debris in Solapur by a rescue team from Animal Rahat ('rahat' means 'relief' in Hindi). The rescue team who sedated Champi can be seen taking her to a safe place, before carefully rubbing the tar off using vegetable and coconut oil so as not to hurt her. It took four days to remove all the tar, and Champi's skin still had to heal, but her personality began to shine through. Animal Rahat is run by a dedicated staff that includes veterinarians, animal caretakers, and a community educator.
