Heat wave in Europe: the strengthening sub-tropical anticyclone is involving not only Italy but also other sectors of south-western Europe and, obviously, North Africa. The orange alert has been extended due to “a heat wave whose persistence requires particular vigilance, especially for sensitive or exposed people,” according to Météo-France. From mid-week, a brief respite is looming in the North with the return of even strong thunderstorms, while in the Centre-South the heat wave will continue for several days.
