MPT had also submitted a proposal to handle coal at the mooring dolphins. Last month, GSPCB also approved MPT’s proposal for handling 2 MMTPA coal at the mooring dolphins, which too it had earlier rejected. Chief Minister Sawant while trying to convince the agitating people has said that the coal handling at MPT will be reduced by 50 per cent. He has maintained that the Union Minister will be in Goa soon and deliberate for other avenues at the port.
