Under the scheme, the government aims to bring on board private bus operators with KTCL along the Canacona-Margao, Curchorem-Quepem-Margao and Curchorem-Ponda-Panjim routes, on a pilot basis. Private bus owners asked, “How can the government expect us to believe that such a scheme will be successful when the implementing agency i.e. All Goa Private Bus Owners’ Association (AGBOA) general secretary Sudip Tamhankar opposed the scheme doubting the government’s ability in providing the funds to run the same. He said that these applications are from private operators for empanelment of their buses under the scheme. As per the terms and conditions of the scheme, the bus owners will have to provide drivers while the KTCL will deploy its conductors.
