US president Donald Trump dismantled the National Security Council’s pandemic response unit in 2018 ― a subject he claims to know nothing about now that the US is being buffeted by the coronavirus pandemic. “When you say ‘me,’ I didn’t do it ... You say we did that, I don’t know anything about it.”He did do it. It included health and biodefense experts to coordinate the U.S. response to global health threats. Senator Sherrod Brown called out Trump for claiming ignorance of his actions to disband the pandemic team. Last week, Brown circulated a letter he sent the White House in 2018 questioning the wisdom of eliminating the global health security office:
