Heroin haul: Uttar Pradesh’s Vishal key to links behind racket

The investigations into the 1,500 kg heroin haul off the Gujarat coast on July 29 hinges on the sailor from Uttar Pradesh, Vishal Yadav. Vishal, it has emerged, had coaxed captain Supreet Tiwary of vessel — Hennry (Prine-II) — carrying the heroin, worth Rs 3,500 crore to change course and head to Mumbai. Morani had promised Tiwary Rs 5 crore for the successful delivery but Vishal had reportedly offered Rs 50 crore if he navigates the heroin to Mumbai. Vishal spoke to Tiwary on satellite phone mid-seas and told him that the heroin would be sold locally for Rs 150 crore. On the way to Mumbai, Tiwary found the ship running on low fuel.
