Strong overnight winds caused two sailboats to pry loose from their moorings and wash ashore on a popular West End beach. A sailboat stuck between rocks and the seawall at the west end of Sunset Beach in Vancouver. Boats that wash ashore in Vancouver are normally dealt with by the Vancouver Park Board. According to park board policy, the first step is to identify the owner and inform them the vessel is their responsibility. If the owner cannot be located or cannot retrieve the boat, Park Board will apply to the Receiver of Wreck to dispose of the vessel.
