Photo: PAPetrol and diesel prices have increased over and above the phased reintroduction of higher excise duty on motor fuels. Duty on petrol increased by 6c per litre and 5c per litre on diesel on the first of this month. AA Ireland said fuel prices had increased by more than 4pc compared to the same time last month, on foot of signalled duty increases on petrol and diesel. The duty was reduced by 20c per litre of petrol and 15C per litre of diesel.
