You can also offer 21 bundles of Durva grass. This is something which is very dear to Lord Ganesha. On the first day of the New Year, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and go to the temple and offer 21 bundles of Durva grass to Lord Ganesha. While doing so, chant the mantra "Om Gan Ganpataye Namah." It is believed that this will remove even the biggest obstacles in life and bring success in all endeavors throughout the year.
