more-inA week after a 50-year-old constable was attacked by a history-sheeter and his gang members at J.J. Nagar, the police nabbed the accused, Aleem Khan, after firing three rounds at him on Wednesday. Aleem, along with his friends, had allegedly attacked constable Rajendra with a machete when he was on patrol on January 16. Constable Venkatesh, who was part of the team, was injured in the attack. In retaliation, Mr. Lingaraj opened three rounds of fire, and Aleem sustained two shots in his legs. Both he and Mr. Venkatesh were shifted to Victoria Hospital.
