IT was a different Thnee Kong Seh celebration to mark the Jade Emperor’s birthday this year at the Chew Jetty in George Town. All is quiet at the Chew Jetty this time around with the MCO in place compared with the scene last year. Kok Wah added that this was the first time he and his family prepared their own Thnee Kong Seh celebration. “Due to the movement control order (MCO), we only have a simple and small celebration. Meanwhile, Chew Jetty Association chairman Chew Choon Seng, 57, said this was the first time in 114 years there was no major celebration at Weld Quay.
