Holiday Brits may be banned from Cyprus and other countries over Leicester lockdown

(Image: Getty Images)The Times claims some countries have raised alarm over the safety of opening to UK holidaymakers because of the Leicester lockdown. Greece has already extended its ban on UK tourists for a further two weeks until July 15 and Cyprus may also ban Brits from going on holiday due to the rise in coronavirus infections in Leicester, officials have warned. Cyprus is putting countries into categories based on their coronavirus risk levels with those in category C banned from entering. "In a few weeks from now, by mid-July, flights will be possible from the UK to Cyprus … 15th July sounds very reasonable." And TUI has warned that more countries are likely to follow Greece and ban Brits due to our poor coronavirus record.
