A family has been torn apart after a 4WD ploughed into a group of children, killing four and injuring three others in a horrific crash in Sydney's west. Seven children under the age of 12 were riding their bikes when they were allegedly hit by an 'out-of-control' 4WD in Oatlands around 8pm on Saturday night. The first emergency service crews to arrive at the tragic scene were confronted with carnage and chaos. There was an outpouring of emotion from distraught witnesses at the scene outside Oatlands Golf Club on Bettington Road, one of the suburb's main thoroughfares. Police have established a crime scene, which will be examined by Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit officers.
