Charles Walker Brumskine, the founder and political leader of the Liberty Party. His body arrived on Wednesday for a state funeral to be followed by internment in Grand Bassa County, his home county on the 14th of this month. Brumskine was hailed for seeking justice through the law instead of violence, which is common in Africa during events such as elections. The House’s move followed a communication from the Grand Bassa County Legislative Caucus informing the august body of the death of its former member and ‘astute’ son of Grand Bassa county. Wesso described the passing of the Liberty Party’s founder and former Standard-bearer, who served as a Senator of Grand Bassa County and President Pro tempore of the Liberian Senate as a great loss to the nation.
