This year, I’ve decided to talk to the students each week about the midterm elections. Each week we’ll learn a new step of the process of running: putting together an exploratory campaign; putting together a team; petitioning; canvassing; phone banking; and fund-raising. Each week, that campaign’s representatives in our class will report on what happened in the race that week. Lastly, when the campaigns are over and the results are in, we have a few weeks left to look at the results. Rounding off the course will be some fun as we gather in small groups to create campaigns of our own.
