For a while, it seemed like things were going President Trump’s way. Trump’s numbers were up overall and it looked like maybe he and the GOP were succeeding in grinding down Mueller. Since the summer, though, there’s been an unmistakable shift in public opinion about Mueller as well as the president’s conduct and honesty. After he zapped Trump’s former lawyer and campaign chairman this summer, Mueller substantially stood down until after the midterm elections.
