But these multigenerational brand names are now trailing behind Nvidia, suddenly the most valuable public company in the world. With a market value of over $3 trillion, Nvidia is worth more than most countries’ entire economies. All that demand for Nvidia chips surely must’ve increased competition, right? All that means is demand for Nvidia chips isn’t going away any time soon — but competition will continue to grow more fierce. And before we know it, another company with a name most people can’t pronounce will be referred to as the next Nvidia.
