A callous thief infected with Covid has been jailed after terrorising a family in their home when he was supposed to be self-isolating. In the County Court of Victoria on Friday, teenager Moses Laula was sentenced to 26 months in a youth justice centre for home invasion, theft and theft of a motor vehicle. He was 18 when he burgled the Cranbourne North home, in Melbourne's south-east, on August 6 last year. The court heard Laula and another offender illegally entered the property on August 6 around 10am. Judge Kevin Doyle sentenced Laula to two years and two months in custody.
