A trawl through the League Managers Association’s records suggests that 62 caretakers have been given the job permanently at current EFL and Premier League clubs in the Premier League era, which begun in 1992. Lawrie Sanchez lasted 224 days as permanent Fulham manager, while Kenny Dalglish lasted 370 days at Liverpool . The longest tenure of any caretaker-turned-manager in the Premier League era is that of Gareth Ainsworth at League One outfit Wycombe.
