Our savings were almost drying up but when they started hatching eggs, we got relief as we used part of the money to buy feeds,”. On value addition, Lumbasi says they also started slaughtering the birds and sell it to the locals in pieces. So far, the biggest challenge they face is the high cost of feeds and electricity especially for the hatching of chicks.
