Female university students are being lured to work in illegal brothels disguised as massage parlours in exchange for earning 'hundreds of dollars a day.' A 23-year-old international student said she experienced wage theft and sexual harassment while working in a massage parlour in Melbourne's east. Some men claim a massage parlour in Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs offers a 'menu' with sexual services, the Sunday Herald reported. Campaigns manager Caitlin Roper from Collective Shout - a campaign movement against sexual exploitation of women - said the treatment of women at illegal brothels reinforced how 'predatory' the sex industry is. Victoria Police are reportedly aware that individuals are providing illegal sexual services in businesses beyond licensed brothels and conduct patrols in areas to prevent the exploitation of workers.
