Cenk Tosun and Idrissa Gueye scored in either half to give Sam Allardyce's side a second win inside a week and consolidate eighth spot in the table for the Toffees. Everton took the lead in the 39 minute, £29million summer signing Theo Walcott using his pace to take him away from his pursuers, before picking out Tosun with a perfectly weighted pass. Gueye wrapped up the win for Everton in the 77 minute, applying an assured finish to kill any hopes of a Huddersfield comeback and haul Wagner's side back into trouble.
