The dead were part of a mob that attacked the police station in Kuria West Sub-County to voice displeasure at the region's high crime rate. Six people were killed, and many more were injured as police officers battled with protestors, according to IPOA. Cleti Kimayio, the OCPD of Kuria West, claims that the police were compelled to disperse the youngsters who had planned to set fire to the police station. While authorities looked into the situation, IPOA asked locals to maintain calm and obey the law.
