In the first episode of Hulu's new sitcom, Shrill, Annie (Aidy Bryant) finds out that she's pregnant via her a**hole hook-up Ryan (Luka Jones). Nor is this a show about how she and that a**hole hook-up somehow manage to work together and become a family so that they can raise the baby together. Annie gets an abortion, and her life moves on, because that's what this show is really about - Annie's life. Her life isn't exceptional or special, nothing that you would think is so TV worthy. That's okay, I'm far more interested in the conversation she has about how hard it is for fat people to find basic clothing.
