Hundreds are starting 2026 homeless in Norfolk as crisis deepens


New data estimates that there are currently 1,113 people in temporary accommodation or living on the streets in Norfolk. South Norfolk Council represents the biggest increase, having seen the number of homeless adults and children rise from 155 to 278. North Norfolk Council saw the number grow from 139 to 153, with figures also rising in West Norfolk Council from 131 to 145. Breckland Council saw a drop from 242 to 210, while Norwich City Council saw figures fall from 86 to 58. Families are not the only ones facing the often harsh realities of temporary accommodation.
