President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in Abuja told the European Union Observer Mission (EOM) to Nigeria’s coming elections that he is satisfied with the level of preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the exercise. He said he is therefore optimistic that the electoral body would deliver on its mandate of a credible poll. A statement issued by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), quotedPresident Buhari as saying: “I am happy and impressed with the briefing he gave. The President thanked the delegation for taking interest in Nigeria’s elections, and in the affairs of the nation generally. The delegation promised impartiality and neutrality in the monitoring of the elections.
