A crab fisherman, stuck up to his waist in the mud of an inlet in southern New Jersey, was surprised when a volunteer firefighter with a familiar name came to help free him. The rescuer was Sam Springsteen, son of Bruce, known as The Boss and regarded as close to a deity in his home state. Now the youngest child of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa has been sworn in as a firefighter in Jersey City at a ceremony attended by his parents and a large contingent of camera crews.
