I didn’t even think I was drunk, which I know sounds ridiculous, but I was drinking a lot in those days. What I didn’t know was that there had already been an accident on that very highway that night. I can remember almost the exact moment when I finally gave up the sadness that consumed my life in prison. I didn’t know how anything worked. I want people to know that not only is there life after sobriety ― there is a great life after sobriety.
