I tell people that colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most preventable, beatable and treatable cancers when caught early. Like so many Black families, we carry a complicated history with health care. For many Black families, health care has not always felt like a place of safety. It requires rebuilding trust, improving access and creating health care experiences where people feel seen, respected and supported. CRC does not have to define our families or our futures.
