Rugby loves a prodigal son and few have been as, well, prodigious as Huw Jones. All very well, but in his next eight starts he failed to get over the whitewash even once. Jones would not be the first player to endure a scoring drought. The space he had enjoyed in his first few Test appearances became harder to find. Despite being a clear favourite of Gregor Townsend, the Scotland coach, Jones dropped out of the international squad.
