Kenya: Former Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Gladys Shollei has distanced herself from allegations that she is linked to a security firm that had allegedly been contracted to guard court premises. Mrs Shollei has now threatened to sue two media houses —The Star and The People Daily — for linking her to the firm. Through her lawyer Edwin Sifuna, Shollei said the articles which appeared in the two dailies on Monday were understood to mean that she was the owner, shareholder or director of Riley Services. "The articles further suggested that my client is corrupt and has engaged in corruptly sourcing business for companies allegedly associated with her. He said his client had lodged a formal complaint with the Media Council of Kenya over the inaccurate reports.
