A special needs teacher has opened up on how she was left disabled after a student threw a chair and injured her spine so badly she struggled to walk. Speaking to ITV hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, the teacher hit out that more needs to be done to tackle violence in classrooms and protect teachers. 'Unfortunately, they picked up an office chair and hit me across the back with it. Asking for more to be done to protect teachers, she continued: 'For this particular child, we were highly trained, but it's happening in mainstream school as well. Joanne Soccard, a workplace assaults specialist at Thompsons Solicitors, who represented Mrs Stone, said: 'This is a deeply troubling case.
