I for one will not accept a fledgling police state emerging under this coalition. The unarmed Garda took over the policing of this State in the 1920s with the consent of the people. If a juvenile is arrested for antisocial behaviour once, then I can see why a JLO is appropriate. Short sharp shock treatment in early offending would go a long way to nipping antisocial behaviour in the bud and stop the progression into more serious criminal behaviour later.
