NEW DELHI: A delegation of IAS officers ' Association today met union minister of state for PMO and personnel Jitendra Singh , and sought protection for IAS officers, including considering the suspension of MHA joint secretary GK Dwivedi Dwivedi was suspended by government last week for renewal of the FCRA registration of Islamic preacher Zakir Naik's NGO Islamic Research Foundation. "GK Dwivedi is known for his integrity and hard work. ".....the protection should be available to both the working and retired officers, irrespective of the service he or she belongs to. Singh told the delegation that government is serious to ensure that IAS officers' genuine initiatives are not deterred on any account. "Likewise, the charges framed against the officer will also have to be intimated to DoPT within a period of 45 days," he added.
