IEBC on Thursday warned public servants against using state resources in their campaigns ahead of the August 8 polls. The commission said such practices are against provisions of Section 14 of the Election Offences Act, 2016. He said the commission or its agents will impound any state resources unlawfully used in the current campaigns. "The provisions shall apply with necessary modifications to an employee of a statutory corporation or state-controlled company." The Election Offences Act provides that state officers shall not use public resources for the purpose of campaigning during an election.
