Gregory Coleman, the Liberia National Police Inspector General (IG), has been nominated to receive the 2017 prestigious golden star award for distinguished security service in West Africa. The award, which is the 14th edition, will be conferred on IG Coleman on February 6, 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda, according to a letter from the Security Watch Africa signed by the Retired General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Patrick Agbambu, international coordinator and chief executive officer. The Security Watch Africa Awards, Conference and Exhibition is in line with the drive to provide an international platform to celebrate ‘Africa’s Best in Governance, Leadership, Security, Safety, Transport and Environment.’ It is also aimed at creating a credible forum for networking and cross fertilization of ideas by experts and colleagues. The Golden Star Award brings together heads of government security agencies, stakeholders security equipment manufactures and vendors, representatives of international organizations and agencies as well as experts on security and investments. This year’s event is being observed under the theme, “Confronting Land and Maritime Security Challenges in Africa.”
