The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba on Monday disclosed that over 5000 personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), are currently fighting bandits alongside the military in the troubled North-East. The IGP acknowledged that the military has been supporting the police in ensuring that Nigerians go about their lawful businesses without hindrances. “I also want to inform you that not less than 5,000 policemen are fighting along with the military in the northeast. She disclosed that the association had concluded arrangements to visit hospitals in Kaduna where officers injured in the ongoing fight against bandits were being treated.
