The institute rejects rumors about appointment of new presidentISLAMABAD: Days after a petition was filed in the Islamabad High Court challenging the appointment of the varsity’s president, the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) on Sunday rejected as ‘false’ and ‘baseless’, rumours regarding the university. In a statement issued on Sunday, IIUI spokesperson Nasir Farid said that allegations against the administration of the university were false. Moreover, he said that the appointment of varsity’s president was perfectly legal and it had been declared as so by the Supreme Court as well. Saudi Arabia, he said, had awarded more than 300 scholarships to the university’s students. Recently, the Pakistan government released grants for development of the varsity’s infrastructure and has appreciated the university’s performance.
