INMO concerned about hospital overcrowding as 413 patients on trolleys

There are 413 people are being treated on trolleys in hospitals today across Ireland, the highest figure since the pandemic began. University Hospital Limerick (UHL) is the most overcrowded hospital today, with 69 people waiting on trolleys, followed by University Hospital Galway (UHG), with 45. INMO General Secretary Phil Ní Sheaghdha, says more needs to be done to stop the problem from continuing into the winter months. "Overcrowding at any time is really, really bad," Ms Ní Sheaghdha said. "It's never good, but it is really bad, during a pandemic and going into the winter months when we traditionally have had excessive overcrowding."
