IPST launches Japanese newspaper promoting TaiwanBy Lin Tsuei-yi and Fion Khan / Staff reporter in Tokyo, with staff writerThe Indo-Pacific Strategic Think Tank (IPST) on Saturday announced the print edition of Taiwan Hot New, a Japanese-language news platform aiming at “speaking for Taiwan,” during a party celebrating the friendship between Taiwan and Japan in Tokyo. The newspaper would be distributed monthly for free to Japanese readers, complementing its YouTube channel and Web site. Understanding of Taiwan within Japanese society remains limited, often confined to tourism and cuisine, IPST CEO Yaita Akio said.
