IS ‘recruits’: Hingoli schoolteacher is latest ATS catch

AS PART of its ongoing crackdown on alleged Islamic State (IS) recruits, Maharashtra Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a schoolteacher from Hingoli district. According to sources, Ahmed, who runs a mobile phone repair shop in Parbhani, was inducted into the module by Khan, who worked in a mobile repair shop. Siddique and Ahmed are allegedly part of the ‘Parbhani module’, which, sources claimed, was planning to carry out an attack on the Aurangabad ATS unit. On Sunday, Iqbal Ahmed Kabir Ahmed (28), a resident of Gulzar colony in Parbhani, was arrested after Nasir Chaus and Shaheed Khan, who were arrested by ATS from Parbhani last month, allegedly named him. Mohd Raisuddin Mohd Siddique (40), who used to teach at a local zilla parishad school, was picked up for questioning Sunday and placed under arrest Monday evening.
