Eastern Syria (CNN) ISIS now controls an area of Syria measuring just 700 square meters, a commander with the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces said Saturday. The SDF launched an offensive last weekend to oust ISIS from its last enclave in Syria, in the small town of Baghouz Al-Fawqani in the country's east. The area now remaining under ISIS control is down from 1,000 square meters on Friday, according to the SDF. Kobani said the SDF's efforts would not end with the removal of ISIS' military presence on the ground. Some of those being used as human shields are the wives and children of those ISIS fighters.
