Communist or socialist ideology propels the workers and peasants to organize to fight for fair wages or for their right to their lands. Feminist ideology animates women to fight their oppression, and here there could even be variants. One ideology that remains powerful is religion, and institutions of worship are powerful bearers of ideological constructs. It can be used to celebrate a challenge to the dominant constructs of capitalism, sexism and racial prejudice. Next time someone lectures you that only the left can bear an ideology, remind the person that such a claim is in fact also ideological.
