I suspect that's because I got fired from my last job, where I worked for many years. I got fired because my old boss, a great manager, retired and the company hired a first-time supervisor to replace him. The first-time supervisor got the job managing my department, and then fired me and one of my co-workers in his first three months on the job. The state agreed that I was fired without cause, but I still have to answer the question "Have you ever been terminated from a job?" I haven't had one job interview yet.
