I wanted to create an ethical holiday season through my purchasing power, but with what time? (And we’re making sure we don’t run out of toilet paper or dish soap while we’re at it.) It definitely wasn’t my husband up at 11 p.m. making marshmallows for teacher gifts while on the verge of tears. Of course, I want an intentional holiday season that isn’t steeped in blind consumerism. I want to make cookies with my kids, but I’m not sure I’m physically or mentally capable of turning that endeavor into homemade gifts for everyone on my list.
