The company has launched an internal inquiry into allegations by BBC’s Panorama programme of “chaos, incompetence and abuse” at the centre near Gatwick airport. The programme has undercover footage of staff at Brook House “mocking, abusing and even assaulting” immigration detainees at the facility. It is claimed that one member of staff threatened to throw a detainee into a stairwell.
