The Guardian gathered that Emenike was accidentally shot by a security aide who is a personnel of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps on his way back from a political meeting on Sunday. The official was attached to one Chief Ken Egwuai. The renowned philanthropist turned politician was rushed to Federal Medical Center, Owerri where he was confirmed dead. The police spokesperson in the state, SP Orlando Ikeokwu confirmed the incident and disclosed that the NSCDC official was already in police custody. “I can confirm the shooting of Ndubuisi Emenike,” Ikeokwu said.
